The work behind
Berko Digital.

Berko Digital is a new venture. The track record below is the work behind it — own-site performance, the businesses I've built and exited, the brand awards my teams have produced. The first Berko Digital client case studies will land here as they're agreed for publication.

Case study · This site

berkodigital.co.uk

Before I ask you to trust me with a website, here's the one I built for myself. Same stack, same engineering standards, same approach to AI search visibility you'd get on a Foundation build.

Lighthouse · Mobile

100

Live Lighthouse performance score, measured against this site, on mobile. Most local agency sites land in the 40–60 range.

Load time · Mobile

0.9s

Time to interactive on a typical 4G connection. The 2-second mark is where customers start dropping off — and Google starts taking notice.

How it's built: Astro on Vercel, no WordPress, no plugin sprawl. Tailwind for the design system, Syne and DM Sans for type. Schema markup on every page, sitemap auto-generated, AI-readable from day one. The full architecture sits behind every Foundation build I ship.

Track record · Twenty years

The businesses behind the operator

Three of mine that prove the claims. Founded, scaled, exited. Operator scars, not consultant theory.

Founded & exited

Beyond

Founded and ran the UK's leading funeral marketplace and 5-star will-writing platform. Two regulated, trust-heavy categories where the website really did have to do the selling. Acquired by Dignity PLC.

Backs up: building real businesses, not just websites for them.

Scaled

Pollen

Scaled from a small festival agency to 800+ staff and £30M+ in revenue. Number 7 on the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 along the way. The version of growth that has to actually work — payroll, hiring, infrastructure — not just deck slides.

Backs up: I've had to make payroll. I think about your website like a tool that has to earn its keep.

Built · launched 2026

Capo

A casual football app — launched in 2026, now used by players across 13 countries. Web, API, native iOS and Android — built single-handed with AI-assisted development. The proof point that matters when I tell you what AI can — and can't — do for a Hertfordshire business.

Backs up: the AI claim isn't consultant fluff. I've shipped a real product at scale with this stack.

Brand awards · Teams I've led

The design isn't an afterthought

Award

CreativePool Brand of the Year

For brand work produced by teams I've led. Not the kind of award handed out widely.

Award

The Drum Advertising Award

UK industry recognition for advertising work shipped under my leadership.

When I tell you a website needs to look like the business deserves, that isn't an afterthought. The aesthetic standard sits next to the engineering standard — both, not either.

What's coming

Client case studies, as the first ones agree to publish

Berko Digital client case studies will be published here as the first clients agree to share specifics — typically named business, results, and screenshots. If you'd like to be the first one published, the rate card has built-in flexibility for that conversation.

Until then, this page leads with what I can already prove: the live performance of this site, the businesses behind me, and the brand work my teams have shipped.
